How to find leads on Product Hunt, G2 and other launch sites
Launch and review sites publish a fresh list of companies every day, with a website next to each name. A product that launched this week is looking for its first users and its first vendors. A product collecting reviews already has customers.
- 1Spot the listing
- 2Press Save company
- 3It lands in your list
- 4Follow up
Why launch and review sites are worth your time.
Launch sites do the hardest part of prospecting for you. They publish new companies daily, sorted by category, with a description and a link. You'd pay a data provider for a list like that.
Review sites tell you the other end of the story. A product with thirty recent reviews has paying customers and a team that cares what they say. The reviews are free research too: read five and you know what customers love and what they complain about.
The signals worth saving.
A launch this week
A new product often needs design, content, ads and outbound help in its first months.
Attention on a leaderboard
A team getting noticed has more inbound than it can handle, which is a good moment to offer help.
Fresh reviews
New reviews on G2 or Capterra mean real customers, and they tell you what those customers praise and complain about.
Your competitors' listings
An AlternativeTo or G2 category page shows who else sells to your buyers.
A quick test before you press Save.
Save it
- A product launched this week in a category you serve
- A company with a run of new reviews
- A competitor's listing, to track who else sells to your buyers
Skip it
- Side projects with no company or website behind them
- Listings with no activity for a year
- Whole category pages. Open the companies that fit
How to do it.
- Open the day's launches or a category page.
- On a list, press the small green Save icon after a company's name. That keeps the name and the one-line pitch.
- For the ones you'll contact, open the company's own page and save there. That adds its website and social profiles.
- Spend a Research credit on the few you care most about to fill in the company profile.
Two ways to open.

Saw the new reviews on G2. Customers keep mentioning [theme], and that's the part we work on.
Templates, with the parts in brackets for you to fill in. The specific detail is what gets a reply, so don't send them as they are.
A freelance copywriter checks Product Hunt on Monday. Lumen Analytics launched that morning with a tagline she thinks undersells it. She opens the product page and presses Save company, and the record comes back with the website and social profiles. She waits two days, then sends one rewritten headline and an offer to do the rest.
An invented example. The people and companies in it are fictional. When to follow up.
Don't write on launch day. Wait two or three days, until the team has stopped answering comments and started thinking about what comes next.
Whatever the channel, set a follow-up date in On Radar when you save. A lead without a date is a lead you'll rediscover in three months.

What to avoid.
The short answers.
Which sites are covered?
27 of them, including Product Hunt, BetaList, G2, Capterra, Y Combinator's directory, Indie Hackers, AppSumo, AlternativeTo, Trustpilot and Clutch.
What's the difference between a list save and a page save?
A list save keeps the name and the one-line pitch. Saving from the company's own page also brings its website, social profiles and logo.
Does it work on app stores?
Yes. The App Store, Google Play, the Shopify App Store, WordPress plugins and Zapier are among the 27 sites.
Is it safe for my accounts?
Save This Lead never posts, likes, follows or messages, and it never browses on your behalf. It reads a page when you press Save.
What does it cost?
There's a free plan, and paid plans start at $19 a month. The plan each site needs is in the table above and on the pricing page.
