How to track AI tools, models and prompts worth knowing

New AI models and tools appear faster than anyone can follow. If you sell to AI builders, or build with these tools yourself, the useful ones are worth keeping with a note on why. This guide covers the libraries where they show up first.

WHY THIS CHANNEL

Why AI libraries are worth your time.

The AI tool market moves weekly. A model that didn't exist last month can be the one everyone builds on this month, and the team behind it goes from unknown to busy just as fast.

Libraries such as Replicate, Civitai and the MCP directories are where these appear before any press coverage. Keeping the interesting ones in a list, with a label and a date, gives you a record of the market that no newsletter will.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

The signals worth saving.

01

A new model or tool with traction

The team behind it is a company worth knowing, whether as a customer, a partner or a rival.

02

A tool in your own category

Keep it with a label, so your list of competitors builds itself.

03

A prompt or effect that works

Save the text while the page still shows it.

04

An MCP server

It shows which companies are opening their product to AI agents.

SAVE OR SKIP

A quick test before you press Save.

Save it

  • A model or tool from a team you'd like to work with
  • A direct competitor, labelled so you can filter for it
  • A prompt that produced something you want to reuse

Skip it

  • Gallery and search pages
  • Items behind a login
  • Things you already saved under another name
STEP BY STEP

How to do it.

  1. Open one item's own page. The button doesn't appear in galleries or search results.
  2. Press Save beside the item's name.
  3. Confirm the company: the owner, or the site it lives on.
  4. Label it (competitor, partner, to test) so you can filter the list later.
WHAT TO WRITE

Two ways to open.

Found your model on Replicate and ran it on [task]. It handled [detail] well. We build [what you do] for teams shipping models. Want to compare notes?
Your MCP server is listed on Smithery. We're adding MCP support too and would like the two to work together.

Templates, with the parts in brackets for you to fill in. The specific detail is what gets a reply, so don't send them as they are.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

A developer-relations lead finds quill-voice on Replicate, a real-time speech model from Quill Labs. He saves the model page, confirms Quill Labs as the owner and labels it Partner. A month later he filters his list by that label and has eleven teams to invite to a launch.

An invented example. The people and companies in it are fictional.
TIMING

When to follow up.

There's less urgency here than with funding news, but momentum fades. If a tool is climbing this week, this is the week its team is paying attention.

Whatever the channel, set a follow-up date in On Radar when you save. A lead without a date is a lead you'll rediscover in three months.

MISTAKES

What to avoid.

Saving from a gallery page. Open the single item first.
Expecting the generated images or videos. Those aren't saved.
Forgetting the login wall. Anything behind a login or paywall isn't read.
QUESTIONS

The short answers.

Is the prompt text saved?

On prompt sites, yes. The saved description includes the prompt text the page shows.

What kinds of item can I save?

Prompts, effects, models, templates and tools. The record notes which kind it is.

Does it cover public Replit projects and v0 templates?

Yes. Both are included with the AI libraries.

Is it safe for my accounts?

Save This Lead never posts, likes, follows or messages, and it never browses on your behalf. It reads a page when you press Save.

What does it cost?

There's a free plan, and paid plans start at $19 a month. The plan each site needs is in the table above and on the pricing page.

One button to save.
One place to find it.

Keep useful posts, leads and their context together. Leave the copy-paste routine behind.
