How to build a lead list from Google Maps, Crunchbase and Sales Navigator
Three sites hold most of the structured information about companies: Google Maps for local businesses, Crunchbase for funding, and Sales Navigator for people and accounts. Each answers a different question, and you can save from all three into one list.
- 1Spot the place
- 2Press Save place
- 3It lands in your list
- 4Follow up
Why Maps, Crunchbase and Sales Navigator are worth your time.
These three sites are structured where social media isn't. Every listing has the same fields in the same place, which makes them good for building a list instead of reacting to a post.
They also cover different buyers. Google Maps is where dentists, gyms and restaurants are. Crunchbase is where funded startups are. Sales Navigator is where you find the person. Many sellers need two of the three.
The signals worth saving.
Local businesses by category and area
Google Maps gives the name, category, address, phone number and website.
Recent funding
A Crunchbase page shows who raised and when, and the save keeps the funding lines you can see.
The right person at an account
A Sales Navigator row gives the name, title, company and location.
A listing that's ready to contact
A business with both a website and a phone number is worth the save. One with neither usually isn't.
A quick test before you press Save.
Save it
- A local business that fits your category and area
- A startup with a round in the last few months
- The decision-maker's row in a Sales Navigator search
Skip it
- Listings with no website and no phone number
- Companies whose last funding was years ago
- Every row on a results page
How to do it.
- On Google Maps, search a category and a city, open a business and press Save place.
- On Crunchbase, open the organization page and press Save beside the company name.
- On Sales Navigator, run your search and press Save beside the rows you'll contact this week.
- All three land in the same list. Export it to CSV, or push it to Odoo, when you're ready.
Two ways to open.
Found [business] on Google Maps while looking for [category] in [area]. Your listing shows [detail]. We help [category] businesses with that.
Congratulations on the round. Teams usually start on [problem] right after raising. Is that true for you?
Templates, with the parts in brackets for you to fill in. The specific detail is what gets a reply, so don't send them as they are.
A marketing consultant for dental practices searches "dentist" in her city on Google Maps. She opens Bright Smile Dental, sees a website and a phone number, and presses Save place. Twenty minutes later she has fifteen practices in one list, each with a number to call.
An invented example. The people and companies in it are fictional. When to follow up.
Maps listings don't expire, so pace yourself and save what you can contact this week. Funding on Crunchbase is the opposite: it loses value within a couple of months.
Whatever the channel, set a follow-up date in On Radar when you save. A lead without a date is a lead you'll rediscover in three months.
3 sites in this channel.
| Site | Plan | What you save |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Navigator | Power | Lead and account results, plus detail pages. |
| Crunchbase | Power | Company organization pages and their context. |
| Google Maps | Power | A business with its place panel open. |
Each name links to its own guide, with where the button sits and exactly what a save keeps. The sources page has the full list.
What to avoid.
The short answers.
Does it give me emails?
No. Google Maps saves the phone number and website the listing shows, and Sales Navigator saves the name, title and company. Verified emails aren't part of Save This Lead.
Can I save search results in bulk?
No, and that's deliberate. You open each place, or press Save beside each row, so the list holds only companies you chose.
What does a Google Maps save keep?
The business name, category, address, phone number and website, as Maps shows them. Reviews, photos and opening hours aren't saved.
Is it safe for my accounts?
Save This Lead never posts, likes, follows or messages, and it never browses on your behalf. It reads a page when you press Save.
What does it cost?
There's a free plan, and paid plans start at $19 a month. The plan each site needs is in the table above and on the pricing page.
