How to use job posts as sales leads
A job post is a company announcing what it's about to spend money on. Hiring a first marketer, five sales reps or a head of data each tells you a budget exists and a problem isn't solved yet. Few sellers read job boards this way, which is why it works.
- 1Spot the job post
- 2Press Save job
- 3It lands in your list
- 4Follow up
Why job posts are worth your time.
Companies are careful about what they announce, but a job post has to be honest. It states the role, the team, the tools and often the problem, because it needs to attract someone who can do the work.
For a seller, that's a brief. A first marketing hire tells an agency there's work and nobody to do it yet. A post asking for experience with a tool tells that tool's partners where to look. The information is public, and almost nobody outside recruiting reads it.
The signals worth saving.
A first hire in a function
There's no team yet, so the company may want outside help until that person starts.
Several hires in one team
A team that's growing will need tools, data and training for the new people.
A role that names a tool
"Experience with HubSpot" in the description tells you what they run.

Two ways to open.
Saw you're hiring a first content marketer. Until that person starts, we can cover [what you do], and they'll have something to build on.
Your SDR posting mentions [tool]. We work with teams on [tool] to [result].
Templates, with the parts in brackets for you to fill in. The specific detail is what gets a reply, so don't send them as they are.
A content agency owner sees Cobalt Freight hiring a Head of Marketing, described as the first marketing hire. She saves the post. Her message goes to the chief executive: until the new head starts, the agency can keep the blog and newsletter running, then hand over a working system on day one.
An invented example. The people and companies in it are fictional. When to follow up.
A role is a signal for as long as it's open, and for about three months after it's filled, while the new person settles in and reviews suppliers.
Whatever the channel, set a follow-up date in On Radar when you save. A lead without a date is a lead you'll rediscover in three months.

What to avoid.
The short answers.
Does it apply or submit anything?
No. Nothing is submitted. A save keeps the role, the company, the link and the first 700 characters of the description.
Who should I write to?
The person the role reports to, or the founder at a small company. The recruiter's job is to fill the role.
Which job boards are covered?
Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Indeed and Wellfound.
Is it safe for my accounts?
Save This Lead never posts, likes, follows or messages, and it never browses on your behalf. It reads a page when you press Save.
What does it cost?
There's a free plan, and paid plans start at $19 a month. The plan each site needs is in the table above and on the pricing page.
